The Four In Christ Quartet Biography

The Four In Christ Quartet is a Southern Gospel Quartet, based out of New Bern, NC, began in 1970 with four young men, singing and sharing with congregations in and around the New Bern, NC area. They were accompanied by a flattop guitar that was played by one of the singers. They remain dedicated to winning the lost for the LORD Jesus Christ through the ministry of quality music, Bible preaching, and personal testimonies. The “Four” original members were, Rev. Jerry English (Baritone | 1970-1986), Jim English (Tenor/Guitar | 1970-1976), Nate Harvey (Lead | 1970-1996), and Beck Bennett (Bass | 1970-Present), who quickly became known as The Four In Christ Quartet.

At one time, group membership grew to as many as 8 (four singer & four musicians). In addition to the original “Four”, past group members are: J.B. Bennett (Manager/Bus Driver | 1970-1983), Gary Ormond (Piano | 1971-1973), Bennie Everington (Piano/Baritone | 1973-2010), Greg Andrews (Drums | 1974-2005), Lloyd Gaskins (Bass Guitar | 1974-1976), Rex Hawkins (Bass Guitar | 1976-1979), Buddy Sasser (Tenor/Lead/Guitar | 1976-2018), Doug Strange (Keyboards/Tenor | 1986-2007), John Stilley (Bass Guitar | 1990-1992).

Since 1970, the group recorded dozens of albums, CDs, and videos. Currently, the group records with Producer/Arranger Wesley Pritchard in Fayetteville, NC. Between 1974 and 1976, they enjoyed producing their weekly TV program which aired every Sunday morning on WCTI-TV12 in New Bern, NC.
