Classic Lightfoot Live, performing since 2016, stands as Canada’s premier homage to the legendary folk rocker, Gordon Lightfoot. Led by the remarkable trio of vocalist and guitarist John Stinson, bassist Bob Doidge(Lightfoot’s record producer), lead guitarist Eric Kidd, this show whisks you down a nostalgic journey through Lightfoot’s iconic music. The show also includes percussionists Bruce Campbell and Malcolm Gould and Liz Anderson on keyboards.
Gordon Lightfoot’s impact on music is immeasurable; he’s hailed as Canada’s greatest songwriter, shaping the folk-pop sounds of the ‘60s and ‘70s. His name is synonymous with timeless tales of trains, shipwrecks, rivers, highways, love, and solitude.
Stinson, with his mastery of both six and twelve-string guitars, emulates Gord’s signature sound with astonishing accuracy.

CLASSIC LIGHTFOOT LIVE celebrates the music of folk-rock legend, Gordon Lightfoot.
Take a trip down memory lane….with CLASSIC LIGHTFOOT LIVE!
Founded in 2012 by lead vocalist, John Stinson, a long time Ontario musician. John has been entertaining audiences around Ontario for over 30 years. He has been widely praised for his uncanny sonic resemblance to Gord, and his attention to replicating Gord’s original studio recordings. John was trained and mentored to play Gordon Lightfoot music by the legendary guitarist, Red Shea. “To me Lightfoot’s music really does reflect what it means to be Canadian. His lyrics tell stories; his stories, our stories. They reach out and touch audiences in deep emotional ways.”
Playing 6 and 12 string guitars, just like Gord, John is backed by the CLASSIC LIGHTFOOT LIVE band, comprising a stellar cast of seasoned musicians that deliver an infectiously enthusiastic and historically inspired show. Bob Doidge, Lightfoot’s record producer, is the band’s artistic director. Steve Eyers, Gordon’s nephew is on bass guitar.
