About this concert
Description referred to as "classic double threat" by NPR, Camille Thurman is equally sentified on tenor saxophone, flute and vocals. Born in New York City, the artist has named herself a powerful musician as a member of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra from 2018 to 2020. Her own albums as bandleader – Origins (2013), Spirit Child (2014), Inside the Moment (2017) and Waiting for the Sunrise (2019), a collection of standards and original compositions – showed her abilities as an incredibly versatile singer and instrumentalist. As a respected musician, she has participated in renowned venues and festivals worldwide, including the Kennedy Center, the Rose Theater, the Winter Jazz Fest and the Colbert Show. Together with her band she will play music from her upcoming release "Fortitude".
