474 Americans Biography
474 Americans was founded in 2020 by Mason Gaudet, Edison Gould, and Violet Gould. Less than two weeks after starting, the state of Maine went into COVID-19 lockdown. After the restrictions were lifted in 2021, operations resumed as normal. After writing enough material for an album, Edison left for a short break. During this time the remaining members started making merch and selling it at the original Rick's Restaurant location in York, Maine. After Edison rejoined in 2022, the band started busking daily and playing $2 gigs in people's yards. After looking at their $25 profits from 2 months of playing, the band decided that they'd had enough and agreed to take it to the next level by recording Johnny remotely with Edison on vocals. Before it's release, Violet quit the band. In short, Johnny flopped miserably and Violet returned in late 2022 as manager. After Mason and Edison went through Berklee classes, they wrote their best work to date. Focus will be released in 2023.
