About this concert
Ternion Quartet is fronted by two amazing artists, alto saxophonist Silke Eberhard (multiple times rising star, DownBeat Magazine), and trombonist Geoffroy De Masure (professor at The Jazz Institute of Berlin), and is brilliantly supported, buoyed and propelled by Ms. Iversen (professor in composition & arranging at Hochschule Osnabrück) and long-time friend and colleague from NYC, German-born drummer Roland Schneider. Iversen composes to allow the musicians unlimited space for their creative input, which is imperative to having a true dialogue. With Silke Eberhard (as), Geoffroy De Masure (trb), Anne Mette Iversen (b & comp), Roland Schneider (dr)

Anne Mette Iversen Biography

Danish bassist Anne Mette Iversen arrived in New York City in 1998, where she produced much of her contemporary work, using the organic staccato beats of her adopted city as inspiration. The summer of 2012 she relocated to Berlin, which provides other outlets for jazz musicians and new opportuneties. Ms. Iversen has 9 (nine) releases out as a band-leader for various sized groups; also including one as composer and artistic director for Norrbotten Big Band. All albums present her original compositions, and three are double albums. She has done several tours in Europe and the US, including performances at esteemed European jazz festivals.
