Donovan Melero

At the age of six, Donovan Michael began his passion for music with his first drum set. This initial spark evolved to an assortment of high school bands and gave him the experience to refine his craft as a songwriter. His musicianship really took a turn at Chico State University where he co-founded the group Hail The Sun with a few of his friends. Soon Donovan would take on vocalist duties for the band as well as being the drummer. While he was finishing up his Bachelors of Arts degree in Music Technology, Hail The Sun did DIY tours all over the West Coast while Donovan honed his craft of complex drumming mixed with his angst ridden and soothing vocals. Once the members of Hail The Sun graduated from Chico State, they began to tour full time nationally to build the band that they had invested so much work into. In 2014 they released Wake on Blue Swan Records. The album had such fantastic fan reaction and critical acclaim, they ended up getting signed to Equal Vision Records in 2015. In 2016, they released their album “Culture Scars” on Equal Vision Records followed by a stint on the Vans Warped Tour. Donovan also remains a Blue Swan Records artist as the vocalist of Sianvar, who released The Sianvar EP in January 2014 and Stay Lost LP in August 2016, charting on billboard for the first week, and several weeks after. Aside from performing and recording, he is a North American booking agent year round for Artery Global Booking Agency, garnering a roster of bands in the post hardcore world, as well as indie and pop.
