Fondé à Québec en 2011, SANDVEISS est une formation heavy rock qui propose une musique à la fois lourde et mélodique, qui n’est pas sans rappeler Black Sabbath, Kyuss, Tool ou encore Mastodon. Leur premier album « Scream Queen », sorti en 2013 et ré-édité en 2014 sous l’étiquette Foliovra Records, remporte le prix de l’album heavy de l’année au GAMIQ 2015. Le même été, SANDVEISS se produit entre autres sur les plaines d’Abraham durant le FEQ (en ouverture de High on Fire et Megadeth) ainsi qu’au festival Heavy Montréal. 2016 est marquée par la sortie du EP 7″ vinyle (« Save Us All », nommé aux GAMIQ), ainsi que par une tournée en Suède. Après quelques changements de membres et une période d’écriture fructueuse, SANDVEISS est de retour en 2019 avec un deuxième album. « Saboteur » est lourd, accrocheur et salvateur. L’année suivante, le groupe dévoile Sandveiss Bloody Sandveiss, un hommage à Black Sabbath.
Le groupe est actuellement composé de Luc Bourgeois (chant/ guitare), Shawn Rice (guitare), Maxime Moisan (basse) et Dominic Gaumond (batterie).

Sandveiss Biography
SANDVEISS is a Heavy Rock band from Quebec City that came to life in 2011. Their music is heavy yet also melodic. Their influences range from Black Sabbath, Kyuss, Tool, Mastodon etc.
The band's self-released first album “Scream Queen” came out in 2013 (re-released in 2014 with the label Sexy Sloth). The first single “Untie Me” was in rotation on CHOM FM (Montreal), CHOI FM (Quebec City) and also the video played on “Musique Plus” (French version of Much Music). In the Summer of 2015, SANDVEISS played notably at the FEQ (Plaines of Abraham), opening act for High on Fire and Megadeth, they also played at Heavy Montreal to a very receptive crowd which they got great acclaims. Next Autumn, their album “Scream Queen” won “Heavy Album of the Year” at the GAMIQ awards. In 2016, they released a 7” EP vinyl “Save Us All” (also nominated at the GAMIQ awards). That paved the way to a tour in Sweden, where they played shows at the “Live at Heart” festival in Örebro.
After some band member changes and a long writing process, SANDVEISS is back in 2019 with their 2nd full release called “Saboteur” (nominated at the GAMIQ Awards). The band is comprised of, Luc Bourgeois (lead vocals, guitar) Shawn Rice (back vocals, guitar), Maxime Moisan (bass), and Dominic Gaumond (drumkit).
