About this concert
Anne teaches bass alongside outstanding faculty from across the country! Camp Bluegrass 2024 is six-day residential camp from July 14-19 which attracts bluegrass musicians from across the nation and around the world. This year will be the 38th year to provide world-class instruction on guitar, banjo, mandolin, bass, vocal, songwriting, dobro and fiddle. Emphasis is placed on perfecting individual skills and addressing individual musical concerns. The camp will also offer songwriting classes, special sound reinforcement workshops, traditional slow jam sessions and Master classes for each instrument. The faculty concerts and the nightly jams make this a week you do not want to miss. Camp Bluegrass is located on the beautiful campus of South Plains College in Levelland, TX. Classes are conducted in the Commercial Music building with nightly faculty performances in the Tom T. Hall Production Studio. Anne Luna Biography

While “that thing’s bigger’n she is,” Anne Luna makes playing the bass look easy. Harmonizing in her mother’s lap before attending school, playing bar gigs before she was of legal drinking age, touring before she could rent a car, Anne had gigs nearly immediately upon picking up the double bass. She has watched bar fights while laying down the beat, bowed heart wrenching lines next to grand pianos, and sang with manatees swimming behind her—because music is something she can’t NOT do.

Anne’s bass playing has been described as graceful and elegant, yet precise and hard driving. As a songwriter and vocalist, her clear, unique voice both stands on its own and rounds out the Hard Road Trio’s vocal work. Her songs have been nominated for two New Mexico Music Awards. As an accomplished, enthusiastic instructor, Anne’s energy and her easy-going manner create a welcoming learning environment for all of her students.
