LEVENDIGE INDIEPOPSONGS MET EEN VINTAGE INSLAG
The Indien staat voor pop in de basis, maar altijd met een DIY-gevoel. Althans, dat is hoe Rianne Walther het zelf omschrijft. Het project rondom de frontvrouw maakt in de kern levendige indiepopsongs met een eigenzinnige inslag, waarbij ze spelen met invloeden uit het verleden zoals psychedelica en soul. Hun liedjes zijn opgebouwd rond de herkenbare stem van Rianne, vaak met uitgeklede percussie, filmische gelaagdheid en gitaarmelodieën. Na in 2023 een aantal veelbelovende singles uitgebracht te hebben, gaat The Indien in het voorjaar van 2024 met hun langverwachte debuutalbum op tour — waarbij ze ook ons podium aan De Bemuurde Weerd aandoen.

The Indien Biography
The Indien is the project around Rianne Walther. The Indien plays with influences from the past but at its core makes lively pop songs with an alternative slant. Tracks are built around Rianne’s soaring vocals often with stripped back percussion, cinematic layering’s and guitar melodies. “Fundamentally, it’s pop music, though it’s probably leaning toward the alternative side,” Rianne says. “The backbone of our music is usually recorded in a live setting, but a big part of the production takes part in sessions at home. It’s intricate, vibey...but with a DIY feel too.”
