The second Love Fest Parade (HudsonValley’s beloved Classic Volkswagen car show) will take place on September 24th, 2023 and travels from Kingston, NY to Woodstock, NY. The Love Fest Parade was organized byJohn Stavros of the Kingston Pop Museum to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the original Woodstock Music and Art Festival. The first parade was held in 2021 and featured over 100 classic Volkswagen vehicles, including buses, vans, and Beetles. The vehicles were decorated with peace signs, flowers, and other symbols of the 1960s counterculture movement.The parade was followed by a traditional car show at the Woodstock Town Hall.The first Love Fest Parade was a great success, where the party continued on till the sun went down. It was fun and festive event that celebrated the 1960s counterculture movement and the Woodstock Music and Art Festival. It was so successful that the Kingston Pop Museum decided to make it an annual event! The museum is hoping to make the Love Fest Parade a major tourist attraction for the Woodstock area.
