About this concert
Ryan Downey returns in 2023 with his most moving and defining project yet, an EP titled Songs For Dreamers. An ode to dreamers everywhere, these songs traverse the battles and the ecstasies of being a romantic in our fast-paced contemporary world. As always, at the centre of his music is his achingly breathtaking voice - a rich baritone with an ability to distil the beauty in life. Join Ryan for a night of romance and reverie as he brings the record to life with an enchanting solo performance.

Ryan Downey Biography

Ryan Downey is a singer-songwriter from Melbourne/Naarm known for his melancholic, poetic and often romantic songs. At the centre of his music is his achingly breathtaking voice - a rich baritone with an ability to distil the beauty in life. A voice that's drawn comparisons to artists like Nick Cave, Leonard Cohen and Chris Isaak.
His first two records Running (2018/Barely Dressed) and A Ton Of Colours (2021/Dot Dash) gained critical acclaim both in Australia and abroad and saw him invited on tours with artists including Marlon Williams (UK/EUR Tour), Sarah Blasko (AUS Tour), Emma Louise (AUS Tour), Tiny Ruins (AUS Tour) and more.
Ryan returns in 2023 with his most moving and defining project yet, an EP titled Songs For Dreamers. An ode to dreamers everywhere, the almost entirely acoustic record is an enchantingly intimate affair, supported by the sweeping romance of a 25 piece string orchestra.
