About BENJI WOLF
BENJI WOLF is a non-binary vocalist, lyricist, composer, music producer, dancer, entrepreneur, and activist from Princeton, NJ, currently residing in New York City.
BENJI is the Founder and Creative Director of The XANADU Project—a nonprofit dedicated to empowering underrepresented creatives and entertainment industry professionals by advocating for their rights and creating pathways to leadership and career advancement. BENJI leads programs that highlight womxn, BIPOC, and queer individuals, while focusing on audience and venue safety, accessibility, and sustainability.
BENJI’s mission is to build a more inclusive entertainment industry where every creative, professional, and fan feels safe, represented, and empowered with equal opportunities to thrive.
In 2023, BENJI graduated from Interlochen Arts Academy’s Interdisciplinary Arts department with a concentration in Nonprofit Leadership and Management. They are currently pursuing a degree in Music Business with a concentration in Social Entrepreneurship, Music Production, and Jazz Composition at Berklee College of Music.
As an Entertainment and Production Coordinator for NYC Pride, BENJI contributed to the preparation and operations of major events such as the 2024 NYC PrideFest, Pride March (the world’s largest pride celebration), YouthPride Festival, and the Remember The Time Kiki Ball, earning the 2024 Heritage of Pride Special Events Award.
As a Team Leader and Pride Committee Member at HeadCount, BENJI led teams of volunteers in effective voter registration efforts at numerous high-profile concerts and events along the East Coast, registering over 1,000 voters ahead of the 2024 presidential election. Their 2024 engagements included Billie Eilish’s HIT ME HARD AND SOFT Tour, the SWEAT Tour featuring Charli XCX and Troye Sivan, Olivia Rodrigo's GUTS Tour, the All Things Go Music Festival, Madison Beer's The Spinnin Tour, Clairo's Charm Tour, Tate McRae's Think Later Tour, Lizzy McAlpine's The Older Tour, Remi Wolf's Big Ideas Tour, Faye Webster’s Undressed at the Symphony Tour, the Queens of R&B Tour featuring XSCAPE & SWV with Mya, Total, and 702, Meghan Trainor’s Timeless Tour with Natasha Bedingfield, Pitbull’s Party After Dark Tour, RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Live!, AFROPUNK, the Shadow of the City Music Festival, Phish Modegreen, and performances by Maroon 5, Esperanza Spalding, Sting, and Meshell Ndegeocello.
As an Accessibility Specialist with Ten Fifty Entertainment, BENJI ensures all events they work are inclusive, adhering to ADA guidelines and providing accommodations for attendees with disabilities and their companions, creating a welcoming and accessible festival experience.
A member of GRAMMY U’s New York City Chapter and a Student Ambassador for the Recording Academy's 2024 Music Advocacy Day, BENJI actively advocates for the bipartisan NO FAKES Act to protect creatives from AI misuse, the Fans First Act to ensure transparent ticketing practices, the HITS Act to provide tax benefits for music creators, the American Music Fairness Act to secure fair compensation for artists from radio play, and the American Music Tourism Act to promote music-related tourism across the U.S.
BENJI serves as an Ambassador and Greater New York Steering Committee Member for the Human Rights Campaign, assisting with event operations, donor relations, member outreach, and fundraising for the largest LGBTQIA+ political lobbying organization in the U.S. Additionally, they are a Brand Ambassador for SeatGeek, a 2024 Community Partner for National Voter Registration Day, and an Ambassador for Project HEAL, raising awareness and funds for eating disorder treatment. They are also a member of the Music Business Association's #NEXTGENU Network, the Event Safety Alliance, Queer Capita, and Fan to Band.
In 2021, BENJI was named West Coast Dance Explosion’s National Champion and spent the following year assisting world-renowned choreographers on a multi-city national dance convention tour.
As a Recording Artist at HOLLYWOODLAND Music Group, BENJI explores musical territories that defy classification, blending traditional jazz and classical influences with modern elements like psychedelic rock and nu-disco. Their debut single, “the boy from costa rica,” a modern adaptation of Antônio Carlos Jobim’s “The Girl From Ipanema,” was released on March 17, 2023.
Their debut EP, "hypnagogia," released on May 19, 2023, includes four original tracks exploring the process from being awake to falling asleep, featuring over 30 young artists and emphasizing authenticity, human connection, and vulnerability. “THE 13TH FLOOR TOUR” featuring Lila Holler began in 2024, supporting the EP with headlining performances at venues including Rockwood Music Hall, Crossroads, Jammin' Java, Brooklyn Music Kitchen, and PhilaMOCA.
