About this concert
FESTIVAL CANCELLATION ANNOUNCEMENT Hello Everyone We apologise for the long delay in bringing you up to date following this year's festival but things haven't been easy for the team since August. As you are all aware, the price of everything is rising as businesses seek to remain in profit and are still seeing the repercussions of the COVID pandemic and Brexit. Now everything has been paid up to date and we've been able to take stock, we very much regret to inform you that we will no longer be able to hold the festival and have taken the extremely difficult decision to cancel it for 2024 and the foreseeable future. The costs involved in staging the festival now far outweigh our small teams ability to raise the funds required to cover them. This has a dramatic effect on our finances and as a consequence reduces the amount of money we are able to donate to the Midlands Air Ambulance (MAA). However, we will as usual be making a donation to the MAA following this year's festival and will give you details separately to this announcement when that happens. Please note, this is not the end for Drunken Monkey Charitable Events and we will be looking into options for smaller events in order to continue our support for MAA. Wegottickets have been informed of this decision and will be undertaking the refund process as of tomorrow for those of you who have kindly purchased advance tickets for 2024. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your support over the past 10 years and hope you can understand our position. We also hope that we can rely on your continued support for any future events we can organise. Yours sincerely The Drunken Monkey Team

Absolutely fantastic. These guys are brilliant. Anyone who loves Thin Lizzy should see them. Anyone who loves good rock should see them. Close your eyes and it could be the real thing. Open them and it looks like it.

Dizzy Lizzy Biography

'Dizzy Lizzy' the closest tribute to THIN LIZZY

Dizzy Lizzy are a fantastic live tribute act, dedicated to one of Rock’s all time legends ‘Phil Lynott’ & THIN LIZZY. Established in 1994, their sound & set-list faithfully recreate that trademark Lizzy sound.
Philomena Lynott stated that Dizzy Lizzy are 'the closest to playing my sons music' This sentiment has echoed throughout the years. Dizzy Lizzy do indeed have an amazing sound and resemblance to the classic 70s & 80s rock band. They will take you back in time to relive that magical musical era with a superb blend of classic foot stomping rock anthems and emotive rock ballads.
(inc . . The Boys Are Back In Town, Whiskey In the Jar, Emerald, Black Rose, Rosalie, Sarah, Still In Love With You). Many have acknowledged Philomena's statement to be true, Dizzy Lizzy are the closest and most convincing tribute to the real thing.
One of the country’s leading and most dynamic tribute acts, they are the only act to have headlined both, the ‘Vibe for Philo’ in Dublin & ‘Remember Phil & Gary’ event in Holland. Also appearing at many prestigious venues, around Britain, such as The Cavern, Liverpool, Matthew Street Festival, O2 Academies up & down the country. Plus other large capacity venues including Butlin's.
Although based in the Midlands, Dizzy Lizzy tour extensively throughout the UK/Europe & have performed as far afield as Los Angeles, Abu Dhabi & Dubai.
They have also performed and toured with the original Thin Lizzy guitarist Eric Bell. Eric Bell’s reaction on first seeing the band…’I could only watch three numbers owing to the emotions. The resemblance to Phil and the mannerisms and playing, it was spooky – it made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck…’ They can also be heard on the documentary CD ‘I am just a cowboy’. Released in the year 2000.
