About this concert
Welcome to the Whitefish Songwriter Festival. For three days in September we will feature hit songwriters from Nashville and Rising Stars from across North America including Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Alberta, and Nashville that will share their songwriting, creativity, and stories with you. More than twenty songwriters will perform in thirty plus shows filling the theaters, restaurants, coffee shops and bars of Whitefish with some of the best songwriters in the music industry. Each show will feature two or three songwriters telling stories, trading songs and showcasing their creativity. All we’re missing is you. We would like to invite you to beautiful and vibrant downtown Whitefish and we look forward to sharing this incredible weekend of songwriting, creativity and music with you. The Whitefish Songwriter Festival is a production of the Rocky Mountain Songwriter Festivals, Inc. (RMSF). The RMSWF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated music education in local communities. Since its inception the Rocky Mountain Songwriter Festivals have gifted more than $100,000 to fulfill this mission. Join us for the 3rd Annual Festival September 14, 15, and 16, 2023. Kate Redgate Music Biography

For all the rebel-rousers, alt-country outlaws and heart on your sleeve story-tellers - this one’s for you. Kate Redgate’s music is a mixture of rock and roll, folk, roots-rock and country. The result of a high school dropout using time well spent absorbing her early influences: the ones she heard as a kid on the loudspeakers at the Illinois Boots and Saddle Club, the ones she saved money and hitched rides to buy recordings of at the local record store, and the ones she waited to hear on the radio, cassette recorder button ready, so she could rewind and playback songs over and over learning chords and writing down lyrics. The Stones and the Grateful Dead, X and the Replacements, Pretenders and Joni Mitchell, Steve Earle and Emmylou Harris… You get the drift. After some years in the dark, Kate is re-emerging onto the New England music scene and beyond with a suitcase full of new songs and new energy. Producer Jon Nolan says that "Life will take a swing at you, and sometimes it pulls a knife. Light Under The Door is Kate stepping toward it with a roll of pennies tucked in her fist." And the Alternate Root's Jeff Munger calls her release "Another home run" for the Rum Bar
