Deux Voix

We are thrilled to invite you to help us celebrate our tenth anniversary as Deux Voix with an incredible musical journey through France! It's hard to believe a decade has passed since our first public concert as a duo in the summer of 2015 in our home base of Houston, Texas. Since then, we've been fortunate to travel the world, spreading trumpet and organ music to countless audiences across 19 states and 3 continents, encompassing over 300 performances to date. From headlining concerts at festivals like Spoleto in Charleston and the Bergen International Organ Festival in Norway, to recitals at enormous venues like St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York City and the world's largest pipe organ in Atlantic City, New Jersey, to intimate house concerts, and everything in between, we have been truly blessed to be able to share our love of music for the past decade. When imagining ways to commemorate the 10-year mark, we were called towards France as a way to honor the inspiration of our inception. Our French name Deux Voix, meaning "two voices," was in part inspired by the collaboration between organist Marie-Claire Alain and trumpeter Maurice André, each of whom were titans of their craft. Our mission from the beginning was not only to pay homage to these two figures, but also to modernize it, bringing trumpet and organ music to a wider audience through the creation of new works and adapting works from other genres like jazz, pop, opera, blues, and many more. Stephen also spent a year after his bachelor's degree as organist at St. Michael's Anglican Church in central Paris, which will definitely be a stop on our trip! We also thought that nothing would be better than to share this incredible experience with you, our amazing supporters. Whether you have been with us from the beginning, or have never heard of us until now, we appreciate your support and would be honored for you to join us on this one-of-a-kind adventure to the land of our namesake!
