About this concert
Critically acclaimed songwriter Emma McGann returns to the Midlands for a rare and intimate acoustic evening at Temperance. Recording a special edition album on the night to a live audience, don’t miss Emma bringing her latest and greatest tracks in this raw, one-woman show. Her unique flare as a guitarist and writer has caught the attention of high profile artists across the world, including Nancy Sinatra, Jeff Beck, Beth Hart, Kylie Minogue and most recently, Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda, who produced McGann’s track ‘Teary Eyed’. From crafting anthemic guitar-led tracks that celebrate human imperfections to more delicate, melancholy songs that seep deep, McGanns writing conveys a vibrant pop sensibility and charisma that is a refreshing flash of colour in a world of same old, same old. McGann is a British songwriter, independent trailblazer and award nominated artist who has earned recognition from fierce female forces in the industry, including Kyle Minogue, Imogen Heap and Beth Hart. Emma is a shining example of how to rock the boat as a self-made artist in the age of independence. Being one of the first artists in the world to pioneer the format of livestreaming as an indie artist back in 2013, McGann’s music live streams have racked up over 11 million views to date. Her songs have gained her BBC Radio 1 airplay, main stage festival slots across the UK, nominations for US awards including iHeart Radio Music Award & 3 Shorty Awards - all as an artist waving the independent flag. Keen to see others thrive and be a voice for the community, Emma also mentors and guides upcoming artists at every opportunity. She is an Artist Ambassador for the FAC, the UK trade body representing the rights and interests of music artists, an Artist Ambassador for the F List, has held mentor sessions with UK Music and has spoken at conferences around the world, including MIDEM, VidCon, BBC Introducing LIVE, the Great Escape and many more. Releasing her latest EP under Virgin Music UK, the ‘Monsterverse’ is the new and explosive alt-pop project that invites listeners to step into visual worlds built for each song. Each track is a true lens into the wide musical influences Emma has drawn upon since her career start (Linkin Park, Andy McKee, Alanis & Nirvana to name a few) and is a perfect showcase of her own signature sound that has never felt as loud, raw and as honest as this EP.
