His sound has been compared with artists like Steely Dan, Boz Scaggs and Randy Newman. Joel’s first album, "Down On Jones Street," was produced by veteran producer Craig Dreyer at Mighty Toad Studios Brooklyn, and chronicles his early years as a business owner and resident on Jones Street.
