On the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend, step back in time with us: Helen & Anthony will memorialize the songs of love, hate, and war from generations past: with the exception of original music, all tunes played will be no less than 70 years old – often older. With a setlist that pays tribute to the oldest of standards alongside original compositions that blend jazz, folk, and blues, this duo will keep you entranced throughout the night. Helen’s voice and Anthony’s guitar are a perfect match. Their interpretations of classic tunes are both respectful of the original melodies (which are often three to four generations removed) while adding a personal touch that makes the songs their own. About the venue: At Flatted Fifth, you’ll experience a unique venue where the jazz and southern food of Bourbon Street meet the blues and bbq of Beale Street.
