JSWISS Biography
When JSWISS is on the mic you can count on three things: inspiring messages, sharp wordplay, and an energy that moves the crowd. To his many acquired fans, he also brings a fresh and much needed, variant perspective to the current hip hop landscape. His brand of hip-hop, reflective of his vast musical influences and life experiences is infused with a heavy dose of what he calls “awthenticity.” As SWISS, who grew up in the quaint New York suburb of Dobbs Ferry, explains it, “How I live my life and in my music, I strive to be the greatest me, I can be. Not anyone else. So I seek to encourage others through my music to be ‘authentic’ and leave people in ‘awe’ of how true to yourself you are. That’s being AWTHENTIC.”
JSWISS, a seasoned performer with hundreds of shows under his belt, is capturing a burgeoning audience worldwide. His must-see, live shows where he’s routinely backed up by a live band of top-notch instrumentalists, have graced the notable and legendary stages of the Apollo Theater, Blue Note Jazz Club, Preservation Hall, The Bitter End, SOBs, Rockwood Music Hall and more. Even the landmark and world renowned New York Botanical Gardens welcomed JSWISS as the first ever hip-hop artist to perform there in its storied history. He’s also shared the stage and opened for many popular artists including, the “GOD” MC Rakim, 2Chains and Big K.R.I.T. to name a few.
