About this concert
The 8th Annual Memorial Day Metalfest Featuring the best unsigned independent Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, and Rock and Roll bands from East to West Coast, from border to border and everywhere in between. The Memorial Day Metalfest and the musicians performing give Tribute to the Men and Women in Uniform, who have fought to give us musicians, artists, and the counterculture underground; the right to get on stage and express ourselves, and say whatever truths in our lives we want. Featuring every type of genre of music, the Metalfest prides itself at not only connecting with the people who wear the uniform, but giving bands a chance to bring their families to the Alamo City, enjoy the Riverwalk, and Network with other Texas bands and musicians for when they comeback for tour runs throughout the year.

Slaves Wage Biography
What is now Slaves Wage began with Jeff Saenz in 1996 as the group Monastic Extroverts and later Soul Slave in Temple, Texas, USA. Jeff made the move to the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex in 2000 settling in Arlington, Texas in the hopes of finding a more like-hearted, like-minded group of musicians with which to make music. All band members are Christians and their love for all things heavy and their Lord prove to be a match made in Heaven. Thick guitars, searing solos and clean melodic vocals pushed by driving drum and bass lines bring home the life-giving, heart-healing, hope-inspiring message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ set to the heavy sounds of the heavy metal genre!
