The Big Pink Biography
Formed in London in 2008, The Big Pink released their 4AD debut album, A Brief History of Love, in 2009 and shot to international mainstream success with their multi-platinum selling single “Dominos.” The band was shortlisted for a Mercury Award, won the prestigious Philip Hall Radar Award for best new act, and won NME’s Shockwave Award for best new track. A second album with 4AD, Future This, was produced by Paul Epworth, mixed by Alan Moulder, and released in 2012. The Big Pink have toured the world with Muse, TV On The Radio, Glasvegas, and Wolf Alice, to name a few, and played unforgettable slots at Glastonbury, Reading, Leeds, Isle of Wight, and Coachella.
The Love That’s Ours, the band's third studio album, their first in ten years, features collaborations with Jamie T, Jamie Hince from The Kills, Ed Harcourt, Mark Stoney & Ryn Weaver. The album was recorded in Los Angeles by seven-time Grammy nominated producer/engineer Tony Hoffer and released via UK indie record label Project Melody Music September 30, 2022.
The Big Pink made their USA national network television debut October 26, 2022 as the musical guests on James Corden’s The Late Late Show performing their single “Safe & Sound."
A four star **** album review from The Times raves, “a fantastic return after a decade-long hiatus by the London band who combine big tunes with an undertow of gothic dread,” NME praises, “a dose of their trademark indie-pop-meets-shoegaze sound from their acclaimed 2008 debut A Brief History of Love, a superb slice of indie rock, varied, exciting and complex, with elements of glam, straight-down-the-line rock and dreamy pop,” and from Rolling Stone, “the new track sees the Dominos group heading back to their roots with darkened and prog-tinged alt pop. It marks their first piece of new material since the release of their second album “Future This” in 2012”
