Trichotomy perform in Austria for the first time as part of their UK/Europe tour, with a new album TO VANISH.
With a 20 year history of making music together, the award winning Australian piano trio TRICHOTOMY have crafted a sound that deftly blends captivating hook driven melodies, intricate rhythms and intuitive group improvising.

Trichotomy Biography
Australian piano trio Trichotomy really need no introduction. Over the course of three compelling albums for Naim Jazz - Variations (2010), The Gentle War (2011), and Fact Finding Mission (2013), 2017’s KNOWN/UNKNOWN (Challenge) and collaborative releases with String Quartet – “Live With String Quartet (2018), and folk-jazz-blues troubadour Danny Widdicombe – “Between the Lines” (2019) they have carved out a reputation as one of the most exciting trios in contemporary jazz. Inspired by a diverse range of influences from Portico Quartet, Pat Metheny and John Zorn to Tord Gustavsen and Nils Petter Molvear, Trichotomy’s music combines a dense rhythmic focus with a refined melodic clarity. In 2021 they collaborated with percussionist Nozomi Omote for a suite of new work featuring vibraphone and marimba, released as multi-media packages.
Their new album ‘TO VANISH’ is released in 2023, and they tour the UK-Europe.
This is a group that continually redefines what is possible in contemporary jazz.
