About this concert
EDMUNTON BLUES FESTIVAL Join us August 25- August 27, 2023 in the new home for The Edmonton Blues Festival!
We are pleased to present Veronica Lewis on Sat. 8/26 at 5:00pm and Sunday 8/27 @ 4:00pm
We are pleased to announce that RE/MAX Field, home to the Riverhawks Baseball Club, is going to be turned into an incredible blues festival site for 2023 and beyond.
Friday Night will feature Rick Estrin and the Nightcats (who played the Friday night of our very first festival in 1999) to open the show, followed by the incredible band of Annika Chambers and Paul DesLauriers, who combine Annika’s Houston Soul with Paul’s Maple Blues Award winning guitar work. This power blues couple has been burning up the scene since joining forces (both musically and romantically) a few years ago. Capping an incredible Friday evening, the incomparable Jimmie Vaughan!
Saturday will get underway with Canadians Brandon Isaak and David Vest teaming up with David’s band; a Mississippi Hill Country power duo led by Lightnin’ Malcolm; VERONICA LEWIS, Bob Corritore, Jimi “Primetime” Smith and Wes Star. Celebrating over 4 decades as Canadian Blues Icons, The Legendary Powder Blues Band will cap what promises to be a great day on the dance floor.
Sunday will have Johnny Sansone from New Orleans, a Pianorama with 3 great pianists across the front of the stage for you boogie fans, possibly the hottest band on the Canadian blues scene, Blue Moon Marquee, and a 15th birthday party for Monkeyjunk, who are recruiting some special guests to join them on stage.
We have a few more big announcements on blues stars joining us to break in RE/MAX field and as soon as they are confirmed, we’ll let you know.
Join us August 25-27 for a new chapter, new energy, great music and the usual great time that is always a part of The Edmonton Blues Festival!

Veronica Lewis Biography
Veronica Lewis, "one of the most promising torchbearers of American Rock ‘n Roll" by American Songwriter Magazine.
At 20 years old, this American Indie singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist is already carving a niche for herself as a deeply blue, raw-energy artist. Hailing from the backwoods of New Hampshire, her music merges American Roots Rock and a 90’s Indie/Alt Rock vibe, reflecting a powerfully vulnerable songwriter and musician.
Veronica’s sonic odyssey is part of the groundswell of female artists who are redefining the meaning of singer/songwriter in modern American rock. Veronica's inspirations are Soccer Mommy, Julia Jacklin, Snail Mail, Sharon Van Etten, Men I Trust, Mitski, Julien Baker, Fiona Apple, and PJ Harvey.
Her upcoming Indie/Alternative debut, “Too Late For Tears” slated for Summer 2024, delivers an uncompromising blend of retro and modern Indie Rock. Veronica presents a soundtrack to navigate the tumultuous journey of self-discovery.
