Artist bio
The solo project of artist and producer David Julé, Void Comp fuses downtempo electronica, indie and alternative rock into a unique, atmospheric sound. Known for his lush, dark production, Void Comp crafts a vivid atmosphere through a mix of breathy synths, thick electronic drums, intimate electric guitar and weary vocals, reminiscent of Radiohead and Massive Attack.

Originally from the prairie town of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Julé turned to music as an escape from the monotony of small-town life. Motivated to pursue his passion more seriously, he moved to Vancouver, BC, where he studied Music Production and Audio Engineering at SAE Institute. After earning his diploma and playing in various bands, Julé launched Void Comp as a means of fully expressing his individual musical vision. During covid, Julé left Vancouver and relocated back to the prairies and is now based out of Edmonton.

He has recently played acclaimed festivals such as Sled Island, Purple City, Hi-Light, and Verboden. He has shared the stage with renowned acts such as Slash Need, Backwash, Orchidae, The Mall, and Nuxx to name just a few. In June 2026 he released his debut LP “Passerby”, and was selected for the 2026 TD Musician in Residence program at Macewan University in Edmonton, Alberta.
