Artist bio
Eva McBel moved to Madrid at 18, her career began to take off slowly as she played many of Madrid’s most emblematic venues, and while she and a handful of other emerging artists began using El Búho Real’s open mic as a meeting point, where they would develop their craft for the next two years. In 2020, Eva released her first EP, 'Some Kind of Portrait', which garnered critical acclaim and won ‘Best EP of 2020’ at the Premios de la Música Aragonesa. Writing mainly in English, and garnering musical references that spanned from Jacob Banks to The Lumineers, the record managed to make waves outside of Spain; from appearing in an Australian tv show, to appearing on the US radio or other TV series like 'Neighbours', 'Élite', ‘The Ferragnez’...
She has supported renowned musicians like Paolo Nutini, LP, Rag n’ Bone Man, Cat Power, Amaral and Dean Lewis, bringing her unique sound to their audiences, and played some of Spain’s most prestigious festivals, including San San Festival and Sonorama, as well as Germany's esteemed Reeperbahn Festival.
Her debut album, ‘I’m Glad You Happened’, which proudly reviews her life journey to culminate in an exciting and carefully thought-out pop record. Taking the listener on a path through the corners of emotional responsibility and the artist’s roots, she demonstrated not only significant musical growth since her first EP, but also a capacity for fearless exploration into the rich and vast emotional landscape she had grown over the years.
In 2026, Eva McBel is expanding her artistic horizons, taking on the producer role for both her own projects, and other artists. With new music set to be released this year, Eva continues to evolve and redefine her sound, solidifying her status as a sophisticated and influential presence in the contemporary music scene.
