Artist bio
Max Bartos is a folk singer from Lancaster, Pennsylvania now based in New York City. For a 20-something Bartos has already done some hard living, and it is reflected in his music. With physical challenges ranging from a traumatic bike injury, losing over 100 pounds, and living with scoliosis, he operates like someone living on borrowed time. Aren’t we all?
Bartos humbly offers sharply introspective lyricism paired with anthemic folk-rock energy that has been favorably compared to Noah Kahan, Bruce Springsteen, and John Prine. However, Max aspires to be more than just one of Mumford’s Sons - he is building his own community in NYC centered around the music he loves. The Basement Sessions, a successful monthly concert series hosted by Max and his friends, reflect that desire.
Over the last year, Max has built momentum through relentless touring and grassroots growth, performing across the United States. His latest release, Waiting At The Crossroads (2025), marks a defining step forward, expanding his sound with greater, full-band depth and confidence. In support of the record, Max completed a 30-date U.S. headline tour and recently wrapped national runs as direct support for Brendan James, Rita Wilson, and Howie Day. Catch Max on tour supporting Tyler Hilton this fall.
