Artist bio
The Response are an indie-rock duo from Ōtautahi / Christchurch, New Zealand — and they’ve just turned the volume up.

After building a following with melodic, carefully crafted indie releases, they’ve taken a bold left turn that embraces a grittier, more propulsive sound with Where Do You Run To? — a fuzzed-out rock anthem that spent nine consecutive weeks at #1 on New Zealand rock radio.

Drawing on the ambition of classic songwriting and the punch of modern indie rock, The Response are leaning fully into their instincts. The addition of a live drummer has taken their shows to another level, bringing a new energy to the stage.

With a rock-centric album on the way and fresh from touring Australia with UK legends Transvision Vamp, momentum is building fast. As The 13th Floor put it: “Life’s too short for ordinary tunes. And these ones are extraordinarily good.”
