HUTCH is now known as JOE NORMAL®, and is hailed as a "working class hero" by international press. AmericanaUK magazine calls him "an American Ray Davies" and he's often compared to Paul Westerberg, Bruce Springsteen, and Tom Petty.

Joe Hutchinson is a native of Elizabeth, New Jersey. From 1982 - 1992 he was co-founder and lead guitarist of NJ / LA Sunset Strip glampop punk band The Zeros.

In the late nineties, he went as HUTCH after releasing a series of EPs and touring with The Hutchinsons throughout the United States, opening for Tonic, The Proclaimers, and Debbie Gibson among others. In 1999, his first solo EP Hutch was released, Joe appeared on Food TV's Food Nation with Chef Bobby Flay and in 2002, after being signed to Smile Records, Hutch regrouped, adding The Exies drummer Thom Sullivan and Flesheaters / Hutchinsons bassist Glenn Hays.

The group released Turn It Around in 2002 and toured in support of the album. The band has also included ex-members of Imperial Drag and Young Dubliners at times, and has appeared with Elliott Smith, The Smithereens, and Dramarama.

Joe also co-wrote a song with former Van Halen frontman Sammy Hagar called Not 4 Sale. ~ Jason MacNeil
