AWEN

AWEN was founded in 2017 by Rafał Wierzbicki (acoustic guitar) and John Ruger (drums, vocals), with the idea of merging classic 70's progressive rock with elements of celtic folk music. The band was soon joined by bass player Johny Virginia, and vocalist & multi-instrumentalist July Linden, and guitarist Albert Void. They released their debut record titled Grà in november 2023. In 2025 Virginia left the band, but they recorded their second album with the help of bass player Łukasz Skalski. The band found permanent replacement in Maciej Ataman (ex People of Pangea, Nirguna) and their second album All Shades of Blue released in January 2026, saw them moving away from their initial folk influence and pursuing more straightforward hard rock sound.
