With releases through Actin Press and mini_bug, C3D-E has been developing a sound where rhythm is treated as something elastic and unstable. Tight percussion, distorted low-end, metallic hits and shifting electronic tones form the core. Patterns repeat, but rarely in exactly the same place. A kick drops deeper into the mix, a sequence starts to warp, a sharp tone cuts through the rhythm before being swallowed by space. There is a strong physical quality to the music: pressure in the bass, dry hits, clipped loops, sudden gaps and sounds pushed right to the edge of distortion. Rather than filling every space, C3D-E lets tension build between the elements. Across releases for Actin Press and mini_bug, these details become a language of their own — stripped rhythms gradually mutating, textures rubbing against each other and small shifts changing the weight of the whole track. For the live set, those elements become more fluid. Loops can be extended, compressed or pulled apart, with percussion and low frequencies constantly reshaping the space around them.
