Artist bio
The Tumbling Souls are rightly lauded as one of Scotland’s best and most energetic live bands of the past decade, weaving Americana, Scots Trad, and indie influences into a unique, foot-stomping and radio ready sound.
Following their debut album Between the Truth and the Dream (2018) and a flurry of singles, they’re about to release their long-awaited second album now nearing completion and ramping-up the energy levels to new heights fit for any live venue. Their songs are often centred on place, identity, and a deep love for their native Hebrides - culturally, and musically and this is no different.
The first taste of what’s to come is ‘1995’, a hook-filled track that’s part heartbreak anthem, part teenage diary, and all about growing up too fast - or not at all. Inspired by late nights and early mornings in the Hebrides and beyond, it’s best described as a love letter to the ‘90s and one that’s sure to strike a chord.
It’s a natural fit for indie-folk, Americana, and nostalgia-driven playlists, and is already resonating with fans.
The band have been closely involved in producing much of the new album themselves, with producers Scott C Park and Keith Morrison at the acclaimed Wee Studio, where the tracks were recorded.
Willie Campbell on guitar and vocals, with Louisa Barron Macdonald (fiddle), Iain Mackay (guitar and vocals), Iain Kernahan (bass), Stephen Drummond (accordion), and David Macmillan (drums)
