Artist bio
Jihad Darwish is a London-based musician, composer and producer whose music brings together Indian classical music, jazz, songwriting, electronics and improvisation.
His work is driven by a fascination with harmony, rhythm and texture, often moving between carefully composed songs and more open, instinctive forms of improvisation. His album 4 Parakeets explores traditional Indian ragas through the lens of jazz harmony and contemporary song, while *The Light That Found Us* turns inward, creating intimate songs surrounded by spacious electronic and acoustic textures. His Still Points project continues this quieter, more atmospheric side of his music, exploring space, stillness and the emotional possibilities of minimalism.
Across his work, Jihad is interested less in staying within a particular genre than in finding connections between different musical traditions and allowing them to naturally become something new.
