Following a sold-out Glasgow debut at The Glad Cafe, TC.KYLIE returns on 15 November for a bigger headline show at Drygate. Glasgow was one of the warmest welcomes of her UK and European spring tour, where the stories between the songs connected just as deeply as the music itself.
With piano, synths and her signature keytar at the centre, she turns cinematic jazz fusion into high-energy sonic storytelling — blending Japanese jazz-rock, acid grooves, SEGA-era textures and moments of Studio Ghibli-inspired warmth. Her five-piece band brings together keys, drums, bass, saxophone and violin, drawing on the improvisational energy of Hiromi Uehara and the rhythmic drive of fox capture plan and jizue.
The set previews her forthcoming debut album, RE:conciliation, alongside music from her first EP, RE:birth. Drawing on her background in documentary journalism at Hong Kong’s public broadcaster RTHK, she brings a documentarian’s instinct for narrative and emotional detail to her compositions. Conceived as an imagined lifetime, RE:conciliation moves from childhood wonder and rebellion through ambition, burnout, loss and acceptance, before earlier memories and musical ideas return to bring the story full circle.
The Glasgow return builds on sold-out shows including Ronnie Scott’s Upstairs and A-Trane Berlin, alongside appearances at the V&A Performance Festival and Jazz FM’s Nigel Williams Presents.
Jazz Journal described RE:birth as “a lovely mix of European and Asian influences… reminiscent of a Studio Ghibli soundtrack,” calling it “immersive” and “the sonic equivalent of a sunrise.”
Sunday 15 November 2026, 7:30pm–10:30pm. Drygate, Glasgow.

Artist bio
TC.KYLIE transforms the stage into “Sonic Documentation.” Wielding her signature keytar, she fuses the emotive lyricism of Cantonpop with the high-octane energy of Japanese Acid Jazz. Her live sets channel Studio Ghibli-inspired nostalgia through high-fidelity arrangements, creating a vivid bridge between cultural heritage and cinematic warmth.
TC.KYLIE’s narrative is one of profound transition and Asian female empowerment. Formerly a prominent journalist for Hong Kong’s public broadcaster (RTHK), she applies a documentarian’s precision to her compositions. This evolution serves as a testament to artistic agency and well-being, establishing the stage as a sanctuary for cultural dialogue and personal resilience.
Building on the international momentum of her debut EP, RE:birth, Kylie is currently in production for her cornerstone full-length album slated for late 2026. Inspired by the spirit of Hiromi Uehara, she maintains an uncompromising commitment to 96kHz audiophile-grade recordings. Currently embarking on her 2026 UK & Ireland tour, Kylie continues to bridge her storytelling depth with the raw emotional power of cinematic performance.
