About this concert
Tickets: $15 in advance | $20 at the door 8pm - Doors | 8:30pm - Showtime A L E X W H O R M S : Alex Whorms crafts music that is a genre unto itself. From her beloved piano, the songwriter and screen composer flows freely and flawlessly between sounds, blending classic singer-songwriter pop, jazz, folk, classical and almost anything else that strikes her fancy—while investing everything with honest tales drawn from her own life. The 2019 Hamilton Arts Award winner's "beautifully crafted songs" (Graham Rockington, Hamilton Spectator) have been played on CBC Radio shows across the country and landed her on multiple television programs (CHCH TV “Morning Live”, Cable 14 TV “Ensemble!”, “Marz Garage”, “Christmas at the Westdale”). Hailed as “a stand out in the Hamilton music scene” (Kristin Archer, I Heart Hamilton), Whorms’ discography boasts two EPs, 2017’s Our Lives, and 2019’s Burgundy, and several singles, including "quietly beautiful and moving" (Tinnitist) covers of "I'll Be Home For Christmas" (2020) and "Insensitive" (2021). Her latest single, the heartwarming and nostalgic “Christmas Morning”, is dedicated to Whorms' family and was named one of CBC Music’s “best holiday songs of 2022”. J E R E M Y V O L T Z : Burned-out mathematician turned indie-soul artist, Jeremy Voltz’s music is inspired by thinking deeply about the people in his life and what he’d love to have the courage to say to them. Reminiscent of Jeff Buckley, Hozier, and Stevie Wonder, he has a voice that is powerful and haunting. As a vocalist, Voltz has toured the UK, Italy, Japan, Mexico, and across the US and Canada. His lyrics are universal and heartfelt, and his songs have been featured in film and television. His acoustic anthem “One Day at a Time” has garnered millions of worldwide listens and inspired a successful children’s book. His debut full-length album, Weekender, just won Album of the Year at the Ontario Folk Music Awards. Jeremy is releasing his second full length throughout 2023, with the help of FACTOR. H O L L Y C L A U S I U S : Holly Clausius is a queer Toronto artist blazing a trail of her own. Her soulful songwriting and charming honesty blend together to create a hypnotizing sound. Mixing the genres of pop, rock, soul and folk - there is a flavour for everyone in Clausius’ music. Holly has performed on stages all around North America and quiets even the loudest rooms with her unique voice. Clausius released her debut EP ‘Sunflower’ in 2020, LP ‘Rose Garden’ in 2021 and just released her sophomore EP, ‘forget-you-not’ focusing on different sounds like pianos/synths, live drums and horns. Some of the biggest inspirations behind these songs include Vulfpeck, Maggie Rogers, Taylor Swift and Julia Jacklin.
