Artist bio
Patrick Earl Houston, better known as Project Pat, is a cornerstone of Southern hip-hop and a proud son of Memphis, Tennessee. Born February 8, 1973, and older brother to Juicy J of Three 6 Mafia, Pat emerged in the early ’90s before breaking out with his 1999 debut Ghetty Green. His gritty delivery and raw storytelling gained national attention with his feature on Three 6 Mafia’s “Sippin’ on Some Syrup,” followed by his classic 2001 album Mista Don’t Play: Everythangs Workin’ and its Dirty South staple “Chickenhead.”

Despite legal setbacks in the 2000s, Pat’s prolific output never slowed, dropping Layin’ da Smack Down, Crook by da Book: The Fed Story, Walkin’ Bank Roll, and collaborations with rap heavyweights from Rick Ross to Wiz Khalifa. His distinct voice and signature Memphis sound have made him one of the most sampled rappers in hip-hop history—echoing through modern hits by Drake, 21 Savage, Cardi B, A$AP Rocky, Denzel Curry, Megan Thee Stallion, and others who either feature him directly or weave his iconic flows into their music.

In 2018, a decade after they began dating, Pat married Alicia Houston. Together, they co-founded the Breakin Baggs Foundation—a faith-based mission inspired by Mark 16:15 to bring the Gospel into prisons, schools, churches, and communities. Through the Breakin Baggs YouTube podcast and outreach work, Pat now blends his music legacy with a higher calling: spreading hope, faith, and the message that all are welcome in the arms of God.
