Avery Cochrane

Among the best kept secrets in up-and-coming pop music, Avery Cochrane is an emerging singer-songwriter splitting time between Seattle and San Diego. Avery’s first single “Chelsea Boots,” amassed over 1000 listeners in its first 24 hours, but she staked her unquestionable arrival with the debut of her highly anticipated and gapless EP, “Athletic Genius” in May of 2022. The record is backed by a rollout that includes a live launch at Belltown Bloom festival opening for Alvvays and Crumb at The Crocodile in Seattle, a VEVO music video, and special international distribution plans. 

​Exercising a sporty brand of soulful heartbreak pop and indie folk, Avery’s sound draws from the timeless stylistic traditions of Lana Del Rey, Wilco, and Amy Winehouse, which are brought to life by lush Phil Spector-esque production walls. “Athletic Genius,” engineered partly by local Seattle frontman Cameron Lavi-Jones, and mastered at Abbey Road Studios in London, is a sonic charcuterie board of sunset sing-alongs and kitchen cry-alongs, each equally as rewarding when paired with the car stereo or the stage speakers.
