Benji Kirkpatrick

A veteran of the folk scene, Benji Kirkpatrick is perhaps best know for his astounding bouzouki and guitar playing in bands such as Bellowhead and Faustus, as well as touring extensively with Seth Lakeman and his stint as a member of folk-rock legends Steeleye Span. However, he is also a superb solo performer and released his latest album, In Phase, in 2023, once again showcasing his outstanding playing, singing and songwriting. Benji recorded the new material with engineer and producer, Pete Brown (son of Joe Brown, brother of Sam) at his studio in Oxfordshire. Work started at the end of summer 2022 and finished in spring 2023. Featured guests include Pete Thomas and Joelle Barker from Benji's power trio The Excess, Alex Hart (Benji’s bandmate with the Seth Lakeman band), veteran backing vocalist Aitch McRobbie and Pete Brown himself. In Phase is Benji's sixth album with his name on the cover, and the songs range from the intensely personal – as in the title track about trying to make a connection to someone in the non-physical realm – to political and worldwide issues and the search for truth.
