SJM Concerts and Up Yours Collective Present
God Save The Queens - 50 Years of She-Punk
A night of live music dedicated to Poly Styrene, marking 50 years since she formed her first band and shattered the existing archetype of the female performer. The headline act will be a rotating ‘supergroup’; a collaboration between original first-wave pioneers and next-gen artists performing a curated ‘Poly Playlist’, reimagining anthems like Oh Bondage Up Yours! and Identity alongside a selection of tracks from the wider ‘God Save the Queens’ canon. These unique collaborative sets will be supported by a high-energy lineup of new-generation punk bands.

Artist bio
Big Joanie are a Black feminist punk band whose passionate live shows and punk rock ethos have led to them becoming one of the most talked about bands on the UK live scene. The band formed in the heart of London’s DIY punk scene in 2013 and acts as a space where its members (singer/guitarist Stephanie Phillips and bassist Estella Adeyeri) can be completely themselves as black women. Big Joanie released their debut album Sistahs in 2018 to wide critical acclaim on Thurston Moore and Eva Prinz’s label Daydream Library. They have since toured with acts like Bikini Kill, Sleater-Kinney, and Gossip, and are currently working on their second album. 2022 saw the release of Back Home on Kill Rock Stars, followed by extensive touring across Europe and the United States.

What fans are saying
Great show and super cool venue! Doubt I’ll end up there again, but I definitely wouldn’t complain if I did.
