Imagine Beastie Boys had a baby with Tame Impala and then that baby somehow made friends with the Smashing Pumpkins - that’s what the collaborative efforts of Sydney electro funk outfit Blokbstr and Marty Rotten feels like.Nevermind is the lead single off of Blokbstr and Marty Rotten’s collab EP “Blok Rotten” and to celebrate we are throwing a party with friends at Buddy’s in Newtown. It’s the introduction to a 7 track, rollercoaster of an EP that derives influence from all ends of the music spectrum but with one main objective - to get them asses moving. Joining them are the party punk four piece Pizza Boys, ACDC reincarnate Tank and the sweet sounds of Luke Martin with an acoustic set.Upstairs at Buddy's!

Hitherto separated by time and space, three musically-promiscuous individuals converge on the sandy shores of Sydney.
Their creative juices coalesce; melodies take shape, lyrics are shouted across the room, and from the chaos an unruly sonic entity is born. Its name? BLOKBSTR. Its mantra? THINK LOUD.
Influenced by a wide spectrum of electronica and post-punk such as the dazzling art-rock of LCD Soundsystem, the new-wave showmanship of David Byrne, and the psychedelia of Tame Impala, BLOKBSTR are here for one thing: to take up space and have fun doing it.
