Artist bio
Alt-pop rising phenom and Filipino-Canadian artist MICO has proven that great music and consistency can be just as powerful as chasing overnight success. Starting at 16 years old singing in Discord servers and Twitch streams, he began experimenting with songwriting and self-releasing music while navigating teenage emotions and uncertainty. The now-22-year-old has since grown a cult following of 1.6 million “amicos,” earned 100M+ global streams, and sold out North American and European tours — all before signing to a major label.
Shaped by late-2000s and early-2010s pop-punk bands, MICO has transformed those influences into a sound that fuses nostalgic energy with modern alt-pop hook craftsmanship. His music reflects the same authenticity that first drew fans online — community-focused and deeply personal.
The last two years have catapulted MICO to new heights: a top 20 radio hit (“cut my hair”), three sold-out headline tours across the US and Canada, and viral fan favorites like “HOMESICK”, “TV”, and “Senses” that showcase his raw, confessional songwriting and genre-blending edge.
In 2024, he released his fifth EP, Internet hometown hero, alongside his sold-out Cancel your plans tour, smashing his own streaming records in the process. Now in 2025, he’s all gas, no brakes. He completed his first-ever sold-out EU/UK tour, supported Nightly in the US, and headlined a run of additional sold-out US shows in May. He also dropped Internet hometown hero (+DLC) in May — a deluxe edition of his 2024 EP featuring fan-loved new tracks “I’d hate to be my friend” and “Don’t you cry” (w/ vaultboy) – and made his festival debut at Lollapalooza Berlin in July.
For MICO, the internet isn’t just a launchpad — it’s home. And as he takes his DIY spirit to bigger stages worldwide, he’s quickly redefining what the future of alt-pop punk looks like. With new music on the way and his Internet hometown hero world tour this fall— spanning 50+ shows across North America, Europe, and the UK — MICO is only just getting started.
