No refunds will be given for incorrectly booked tickets.  Northside formed in Manchester in 1989 and were signed to Factory Records by the late Tony Wilson after he saw the band play a sold-out show at The Boardwalk later that year. Their debut single, Shall We Take A Trip?/Moody Places, was released in June 1990, produced by Iain Broudie (The Lightning Seeds) and engineered by Cenzo Townshend. Despite being banned from daytime radio due to its obvious drug references, the single still reached No. 50 in the UK Charts with virtually no airplay. Instrumental versions of both tracks became regular features on Granada Soccer Night throughout 1990 and 1991. The second single, My Rising Star, followed in October 1990 and reached No. 32 in the UK Charts.  The accompanying video famously featured the band performing on top of Manchester’s Arndale Centre. A live version of the track, along with interviews with the band, appeared on Granada TV’s Madchester – The Sound Of The North. Granada also broadcast a live Northside performance filmed at The PSV Club in Hulme during the same year.

Artist bio
Northside are a band from Manchester, England that borrowed heavily from the Madchester scene of the time. Formed in 1989, they released their only album Chicken Rhythms on Factory Records in 1991. The band became known for their ecstatic live shows.

With its opening gambit, LSD, their single, "Shall We Take A Trip" was held by many as a symbol of the Madchester scene. It served up spangly psychedelia and shuffling beats. The track was banned by the BBC for its many references to drugs. It eventually broke into the top 50 in the UK charts. Interestingly though, on 6th May 2006, BBC 6 Music played this song in its entirity on the Marc Riley Show in mid afternoon. This possibly shows how things have moved on in 15 years.

Band members are Warren Dermody (Vocals) Timmy Walsh (Guitar) Cliff Oiger (Bass) and Paul Walsh (Drums) with Danny Yates (Guitar) Paul Ankers (Guitar) and Dean Dermody (Drums) replacing the original line up some years later.
