Artist bio
The Courettes are a high-voltage Brazilian-Danish garage rock duo known for their explosive live shows and retro-futuristic style. Formed in 2014 by Flavia Couri (vocals, guitar) and Martin Couri (drums, vocals), the band blends the raw spirit of garage rock with the punch of early punk, combining fuzzed-out guitars, pounding drums, girl-group harmonies and a Wall of Sound production that feels both timeless and urgently modern.

From DIY roots to international stages, The Courettes have become one of the most exciting bands on the European rock scene. With releases on the legendary UK label Damaged Goods Records, they have earned widespread critical acclaim, with Rolling Stone, MOJO, The Guardian, Shindig!, Classic Rock and BBC Radio 6 among their supporters.

Their breakout album Back in Mono (2021) was followed by The Soul Of... The Fabulous Courettes (2024), their most ambitious and soulful record to date, exploring soul and cinematic cigarette pop while retaining their signature garage-rock grit.

With over 800 shows played across more than 20 countries and more than 35,000 physical records sold worldwide, The Courettes have built a dedicated international fanbase through extensive touring across Europe, the USA, Japan, UK and South America. In 2026, the duo is touring internationally, including a US run supporting legendary punk rock pioneers The Damned.

On November 6, 2026, The Courettes will release a new 7-inch single via Damaged Goods Records in the UK/Europe and Wicked Cool Records in the US, marking the beginning of a new chapter leading up to their next album, "Fuck Yous & Heartbreaks", due in 2027. The album will push their signature sound further, featuring collaborations with the Guerilla Street Gospel Choir and a remix by Danish electronic music producer Trentemøller. It will be mixed by Per Sunding, the acclaimed Swedish producer known for his work with The Cardigans, and Dave Fridmann, renowned for his work with The Flaming Lips, MGMT and Mercury Rev.

“Your new favourite band once you´ve heard them!”
Marc Mcstea (Louder Than War, UK)

“Unbelievably good songs, top tunes. The COURETTES get along completely without covers and have found their own distinctive sound. Charming, twisting and always danceable.”
By Gereon Helmer (Ox Magazine, Germany)

“Crooked girl group love songs fed on a diet of bathtub amphetamines”
Henry Hutton (Shindig!, UK)

“Like amped-up Kinks meets The Sonics in a dark alley”
Lenny Helsing (Bananas Magazine, USA/UK)

“The Courettes full-bore attack would do any festival proud”
Kieron Tyler (Mojo, UK)

“The coolest couple of the Reeperbahn Festival”
(The Music Minutes, Germany)

“‘60s-style garage band that has the look, the vintage gear, raw production, and actually play with pure fire and intensity. Most importantly, they have SONGS”
(Mojo Workout)
