Sessa's songs are sung in Portuguese, with visceral, sensual lyrics in the vein of Caetano Veloso, and the melodic flourishes of Jobim. However, the music gets a deliberate minimalist treatment rarely found in contemporary Brazilian music, more reminiscent of the bareness of Leonard Cohen, with touches of tropicalia and free jazz.

SESSA!!!!!!!!!!! The band put on such a special show. William Alexander was the perfect choice to open. The entire experience exceeded my expectations in so many ways. Had a chance to meet and speak with Sessa after the show. He was just as humble and soft spoken as I expected. Signed some items for us. Totally wasn't expecting it. Shoutout to Hidden Hall too. Easily one of my favorite venues to catch newer artists. Highly recommend!
