Jota Mercury Biography
Jota (pronounced HO-TAH) Mercury is an international award winning drag performer who uses drag to challenge machismo as we know it. They are Mexican-American and Indigenous, originally from Fresno, California but now entertaining crowds in the greater bay area for the past 5 years. You may recognize him performing alongside his drag brothers in the following troupes: Rebel Kings of Oakland, Yeah Girl, and Nine Inch Males. He’s participated in global competitions, going as far as Panama City, Panama to perform his El Rey act for the Panama Burlesque Festival. They are currently 48hills.org Best Drag King of the Bay, reigning alongside Nicki Jizz as 48hills.org Best Drag Queen of the Bay.
