Intimate. Nuanced. Devastatingly beautiful. After a period of self-reflection, indie folk/pop hero Kurt Wagner and co emerged from the studio, with a new Lambchop record called, The Bible, released in 2022 on City Slang (Merge in North America). Produced by Ryan Olsen (Poliça, Gayngs) and Andrew Broder, the album is perhaps the band’s most ambitious work to date. Following an ambitious one off performance of The Bible in full at the prestigious Walker Art Center, Lambchop undertook a further commission to go on the road in their most intimate setup to date. These shows saw Lambchop up close and personal, performing as a duo with Kurt plus a pianist. 2024 performances included a sold out show at Barbican in London, and at Primavera Sound Barcelona + Porto. The duo have been blown away by the audience reactions, and are ready to bring these extra special performances to even more EU/UK audiences. At them, fans can hear tracks from The Bible plus more hits from the catalogue.

Artist bio
Although based in Nashville, Tennessee, the capital of country music, Lambchop cannot easily be classified into a genre and certainly not into that of traditional country music. The collective around frontman Kurt Wagner has a fluid membership, at times including as many 18 musicians, and is frequently associated with alternative country. Lambchop’s music combines wryly ironic lyrics that are complex in form and content with harmonious tunes and soulful background vocals. It is indebted to folk and country as much as to the smooth soul of Barry White, Curtis Mayfield or Marvin Gaye and can be seen as a fine exemplification of Kris Kristofferson’s famous line: “country music is the white man’s soul”.
