Lovesick Loner Car

Lovesick Loner Car was formed in 2023 by Northern Virginia native Chris Goodin. With over 20 years of experience in the DC metro music scene, Goodin has built a strong reputation as both a performer and audio engineer.

What began as a solo songwriting project—sparked by the sudden loss of lifelong friends, family members, and former bandmates—led to the creation of deeply emotional tracks like Abandoned Buildings and The Past Is a Ghost. These early songs marked the start of a new chapter for Goodin, evolving into studio sessions with a rotation of drummers John Love and Rob Rhods and Kyle George and eventually shaping the distinctive sound that would define Lovesick Loner Car.

Chris soon recruited local bassist Eric Stevens (Vacuum Scam) and reunited with longtime friend and former bandmate Josh Peterson from Cobbler. Throughout 2023, the band played live shows and released their debut EP, Love & Loss, along with the singles One Step and Abandoned Buildings, gaining traction on Spotify and building a growing fan base.

In 2024, the band expanded its lineup with the addition of drummer Daniel Kim and lead guitarist Jordan Davidson, former lead singer of The Jean Marie. Their sound has since matured into a seamless blend of indie rock and shoegaze, featuring Kate Bush–inspired synth leads, warm keys reminiscent of Death Cab for Cutie, and the atmospheric depth of Lord Huron. Tying it all together is Goodin’s vividly honest and emotionally resonant songwriting, resulting in a unique and compelling musical experience.
