JUNO Award-winning Toronto singer-songwriter Dylan Sinclair has emerged as a dominant force in contemporary R&B. Hailed as an "R&B king in the making" by Complex and recognized as a "leading voice reshaping Toronto's R&B sound" by CBC Radio, the Filipino-Guyanese artist has distinguished himself through profound songwriting and innate musicality.
Sinclair began writing and recording at 15, releasing his 2018 debut EP Red Like Crimson. The project caught the ear of JUNO-winning producer Jordon Manswell, sparking a creative partnership that yielded Sinclair's gospel-tinged 2020 album Proverb and his first JUNO nomination for Traditional R&B/Soul Recording of the Year. His 2022 EP No Longer in the Suburbs elevated his profile with a Polaris Music Prize nomination and standout singles "Lifetime" and "Open." At the 2023 JUNO Awards, Sinclair claimed his first win for "Last One," his duet with Savannah Ré.
September 2024 marked a pivotal moment with the release of FOR THE BOY IN ME, his debut studio album. Executive produced with Manswell and crafted over several years, the 12-track collection channels '90s and early 2000s R&B while excavating themes of vulnerability and intimacy. The album secured his third JUNO nomination for Contemporary R&B Recording of the Year.
