Kemi Sulola Biography

Kemi Sulola is a singer songwriter born and raised in the heart of East London. Kemi’s music stems from a range of musical influences, from Neo-soul, Hip-hop , RnB to Reggae and Jazz all leading to a unique combination of authentic music. With a sound often linked to the golden era of 90’s RnB, the British soul singer brings that feel good and free vibe to her listeners, through her use of positive emotive jazzy melodies and her light warm vocal tone .
Her first E.P project called ‘Fallen For You’ has gained recognition and play from radio, such as Neo2Soul, Brum Radio, BBC Introducing and other media outlets. RnB don Trevor Nelson himself had mentioned how he had enjoyed playing the EP in his car. The project is a blend of soul and RnB music and has been described as ‘refreshing, versatile and soulful’.

Kemi made her first solo television performance live on London Live TV performing an acoustic version of her original song ‘Your Lady’. Kemi has also worked with NANG for their Growing Pains 2 compilation with her grime soul and RnB infused track 'CountDown' featured on BBCxtra and described by FaderUK as 'Heart fluttering'. Underground she has been making heads nod with her unique version of God Bless The Child, originally by Billie Holiday.

Kemi has performed at well-known venues such as; The Jazz Café, Royal Festival Hall, and The Jam House Birmingham to name a few. In addition to this she has performed at the Koko Camden supporting Stormzy and Krept and Konan. In 2016 she performed in front of HRH Earl of Wessex who commended her song and performance.
