The upcoming drummer Creature. is on a mission to revamp jazz by incorporating a mix of traditional and modern aspects of the genre in his creative approach. With his talented ensemble Creature. Trio, the artist manages to fuse elements of R&B, hip hop, funk, and electronic music with fusion and bebop.

Creature. studied drums at the British and Irish Modern Music Institute (BIMM) in London for three years, honing his technique to re-create the traditional jazz drum sound. As an artist who constantly strives to expand his repertoire, he added a healthy dose of contemporary spice to the mix by integrating deep R&B, hip hop, and funk aspects in his music.

His band, Creature. Trio (Chris Richardson on keys and Dan Collins on bass), draws its aesthetic from the infinite well of inspiration created by drummers and groups such as Chris Dave and the Drumhedz, Mark Guiliana Jazz Quartet, Art Blakey, Corey Fonville, Justin Tyson, Philly Joe Jones, Robert ‘Sput’ Seawright, and Tony Williams.

While establishing his name in the modern jazz world, Creature. also maintains his career as an eclectic live and recording session drummer.

With his unique approach to jazz coupled with the outrageous talent of Richardson and Collins, Creature. and his trio are on an uphill trajectory with exciting collaborations and refreshing performances on the horizon!
