JAMES MASTRO & MARSHALL CRENSHAW @ Sellersville Theater

It’s been 30 years since I saw James Mastro—in a urine-soaked bagel shop in Columbus, Ohio, as he toured with Health and Happiness Show. Great concert then. Better concert this time around. James’ back-up band of power-pop stalwarts filled the historic old schoolhouse with great tunes and warm feelings. The venue—no lie—had free coffee and homemade soup in the kitchen. The vibe was family—whether you were an old time player from Jersey or a visitor from a flyover state, like me. This is one that will go down in the record—and memory—books. Peace, James.
